… should we be in distinguishing Galerina from Kuehneromyces?
This collection was on the same trail that Galerina marginata and other Galerinas inhabit, and just as the temperatures have begun to rise, this collection – seemingly similar – was found.
I ran NCBI searches for Galerina marginata and Kuehneromyces mutabilis just to get an idea of similarity and based on a 5 minute casual look, they are not at all similar. Something tells me otherwise though. Any insights out there?

but these are too dark, at least for Kuehneromyces mutabilis. The cystidia look like a typical Galerina type.
Taste (and spit): often farinaceous in Galerina – mild, agreeable but not farinaceous in Kuehneromyces.
