No clear zonate ring as seen in P. cinctulus, even when fresh directly after a rain. Grayish pileus. Most specimens have a fairly light colored stipe when compared with P. cinctulus… Spores possibly finely roughened, although it’s very hard to tell with my microscope. Germ pore does not appear oblique in side view.
