Notes: Wet capped gilled fungi growing on wood. Last three images are of what I believe to be the same fungi species but taken in surrounding area from the original fungi.

WWhen I nominated wood, I noticed that the root system was attached to fine roots , but the fungi was easily removed from its habitat. Hope this helps to explain my choice of description.
