you may have misunderstood what I meant. Yes, its definitely a real name that has been described & used, what I don’t know if its a real species in the natural sense, maybe it should be synonymized with another name? Correct me if I’m wrong, but I understand that breeding studies are not a fool proof way of determining if two fungi are the same species or not?

A. acericola even a real species? I haven’t had much luck finding much info on it besides Kuo’s page on it where he says:

“Agrocybe acericola, as it is currently defined, is probably not a valid species if we want to be scientifically accurate about what a natural “species” is."
