Recognized by sight: Pileus is convex with recurved margins, and a yellow ochre to bright yellow surface covered by fibrillose, tawny scales. The lamellae are adnate to decurrent, close, dull yellow, becoming rusty with crenulate edges. The stipe is cylindric, dingy yellow above, becoming brown below, with a fragile, brownish ring.
