Observation 134512: Stropharia rugosoannulata Farl. ex Murrill
When: 2013-05-25
Who: goatshoes
No herbarium specimen
0 Sequences

Notes:
Quite large…stem and cap approx 5 inches. Found in mulch under an unidentified conifer. Altitude much higher than where I usually explore…on the highest point of the appalachians in my area…aprrox 2,250 ASL. Prominent veil, yellow cap, stem also yellow and a bit more woody then I would have expected, gills are a beautiful shade of purple. I found this during a wedding and my ride refused to let shrooms share the ride home with us so no sporeprints to speak of…but, I can assume these were purple beacsue they seemed to have dropped to the stem and I could seem the purple cleary in little specks…but of course, I cannot be 100% sure.
