Observation 134635: Suillus albivelatus A.H. Sm., Thiers & O.K. Mill.

No herbarium specimen

Notes: Two fruit bodies-approximately 5cm around cap, viscid with slight shaggy hirsute margin similar to S. lake.
Stems-short, white and bulbous.
Scent-piney, smoky.
Pore surface not staining blue when handled.
Fruiting at 4100 ft. in burnsite edges with Morchella, Gyromitra and Peziza species. Huge forest fires in this area last summer and early Fall.

Found beneath Douglas fir and Ponderosa pine.

Temp: Low 60’s.
