Notes:
Large wood ear-fruiting on charred Ponderosa pine-about 6cm around.
Rubbery, jelly like in center but firm-as with most Auricularia. Reddish tinge, dusty, veiny surface.
Fruiting near small spring-wetland area.
This entire canopy was the site of extensive forest fires last summer/fall(2012).

Elevation-4100ft.

Temp: low 60’s.
