and recurved scales circling the top of a bulb with pinkish or rusty stains on it suggests the provisionally named “Amanita subcokeri.” You should check material like this for a distinctive odor that is hard to describe. I find it to be a mixture of an old cedar chest and caramelized sugar.


The form of the bulb is important in sect. Lepidella.
