Observation 135026: Gymnopilus P. Karst.
When: 2013-05-29

Notes: This variety of fungi was discovered in a remote section of the forest where some trees had fallen naturally and access was restricted. They were found growing on the side of an old burt stump but were attached to wood that had survived the fire. I found two other specimens on the same log that were smaller but had the same colouring. The caps were small compared to the length of the stipes. The colour is true and as seen at the time. Part of the old stump is represented in one of the images. I do not believe I have loaded this specimen before. The cap, gills and stipe colouring is unusual in that they all appear to be the same colour.
