Recognized by sight: G.australe is a Southern species similar to European G.adspersum, G.adspersum is non laccate. This specimen is a laccate species, if there is evidence of perennial growth it may be Ganoderma pfeifferi, Which can be distinguished in the winter by having a sweet smell and often a deposit of a waxy substance.
