Observation 135042: Stereaceae sensu lato

As I have previously noted, there are numerous “Polypores”?? in the Fungi areas I frequent. This particular Specimen group are unusual for two reasons. The fungi is almost Black at all stages of growth, and when removed from its habitat is Paper Thin. Worth showing I think. I do not have any real references on Australian Polypores, and it is so difficult to get reliable information on them. They appear to be overlooked in most areas by the finders recording Australian Fungi . (Postia/Pollypore/Ganoderma seems to be a general consensus &reference.)

of the fungus supports Stereum instead of Polyporus or Ganoderma. BTW, Ganoderma should have a much thicker context.
