Observation 135145: Duplicate
When: 2013-05-15
No herbarium specimen

Notes: When I found this, we were getting close to our car after a fairly long hunt and the sun was low enough to create shadows and make taking photographs difficult. At the time we had no idea this might be a rare find, so my recollection of the habitat is based on memory rather than field notes.

It was growing close to the base of a Ponderosa pine sapling near a transition area between 60? year growth and a newer plantation that may have been 30 years old. I think it was in an area of fairly sparse ground cover. The older growth nearby was varied, with white fir present.
