Recognized by sight: Purplish-brown colour between cracking/ where flaking off, on sterile base. Also generally after seeing so many in the park – probably the most common Calvatia species here. Possibly collected from 70 mile butte – a popular hike nearby and I found it in high abundance at the summit there (mid August).
