Notes: Massive, bright white covering of the tips of and pits these large blonde morels. These were found in a large squirrel hole and were extremely moist and firm. The mold in questions looks very much like Hypomyces chrysospermus-but only known that to be associated with Boletus.
Temp: upper 60’s.
Found in ashes and dirt in a forest fire site from summer 2012. This spring there were literally thousands of morchella species here. Unfortunately these two were consumed with mold.
