Observation 135458: Morchella Dill. ex Pers.
When: 2013-06-01
( 4100m)
No herbarium specimen

Notes: The final spread from our trip to Blewett pass burn sites. Large burns occurred last summer and continued for a month. This Spring the result was truly a site to see.

358 in a little under 4 hours! Officially addicted to burn site scavenging.

Temp: upper 60’s.

Elevation: 4100ft.

Multiple species of Morchella- at least 4 different varieties that we could surmise from this location.

These are all from the same Blewett pass burn site location. 178 count today- small in number compared to the over 300 last time- but what we lacked in number they made up for in size! Some were almost 10in. tall including full stems!

of little morel pins and inch high fruiters (in the burns) all over the summit of Blewett… At least there were when we left last weekend. Left more than we picked! If a rain occurs this week I anticipate that they will be fully mature by next week.

Don’t know your location Elsa- but if you can get up here- the burn sites will not disappoint ;)
