Brown, conic to convex to plane caps with small knob on disc. Cap orbicular, and hygrophanus, with color changes lighter from the margin to darker on the disc. Pileal margin decurved, at first entire, then with some slight interruptions. Caps dry, and color changes produce “bands”. Trama extremely thin, and soft.
Pileal width 7-20mm. Stipe at base 2mm wide x 24-50mm long. Lamellae width 2-4mm x4-9 mm long. Trama less than .5mm thick, and stipe apex 2mm wide. Some specimens dried dark brown while others were tan.
Gills were brown, attached, and subdistant. Stipe centrally attached , terrete, and equal. Stipe was hollow and brittle. No partial veil. found scattered to gregarious in grass. The few spores I obtained were brown. the three bottom photos are at 400x, and each line is approx. 2.4u
