Notes: Growing in moss-covered duff, in a mixed forest.
Stem violet colored, finely pruinose, bends without breaking. Caps with slight umbo. Gills intervenose, distinctly decurrent. Odor raphanoid.
Basidia 2- and 4-spored, 20×6, with sterigmata ~4 microns. Spores 7.5-9 × 4-5. Cheilocystidia forming sterile band 70-75 × 12-18. Pleurocystidia scattered, 55 × 15. Caulocystidia 85 × 12, clamped. Hyphae of pp smooth, clamped.
All characters match M. pearsoniana, with the exception of (1) presence of pleurocystidia, and (2) absence of the gelatinous layer near the hypodermium (pp).
