Observation 136082: Trametes gibbosa (Pers.) Fr.

When: 2013-06-09

Collection location: Nescopeck State Park, Pennsylvania, USA [Click for map]

Who: Dave W (Dave W)

No specimen available

At first I thought this was Daedalopsis confragosa on account of what appeared to be the pinkish-brown staining of a slotted/mazelike pores. When I rubbed the pore surface to attempt to induce bruising there was no color change. Upper surface seems wrong for D. confragosa… or also for Daedalea quercina.

Context white, yellow-tan in KOH.

Formerly Trametes elegans.
