Observation 136088: Gymnopilus P. Karst.

these were also on the base of what used to be a sabal palm tree… they were very old and literally grew out of a hole in the ground which may explain the long stems. found about 100 feet from http://mushroomobserver.org/136087

G. luteoviridis. Besides my recent OBs, G. luteo are the only gyms I’ve ever saw/heard of down here… looks similar to http://mushroomobserver.org/117732

The G. luteoviridis stump in that OB has fruited multiple times during the year… so I don’t think they really follow the “season” aspect… but does G. luteoviridis fruit on palms?
