-old ones liquify, young ones have granules on caps that rub off when touched
-grow en-masse on this stump and common around town
-ate a few… plain taste and difficult to get bugs/ sandy soil off, no ill effects but not recommended
-same stump in front of house is host to a number of other fungi as well: Ceratiomyxa fruticulosa, Mucilago crustacea, Lycogala epidendrum, and an unknown shelf mushroom that’s too young and too old to currently ID)
