Notes: this old specimen was found in sandy soil covered with detritus (leaf litter, oak wood, etc) under oaks in old growth oak hammock spotted with 50+ year old slash pines and many huge, old sabal palms. THE BASAL MYCELIUM WAS WHITE (it was huge, however, and may backpack was too full to fit it anywhere… i actually walked out of this park with mushrooms in my pockets I found so many! haha.
