Observation 136377: Agrocybe Fayod
When: 2013-06-14
Collection location: Canada [Click for map]
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Growing on wood-chip horticultural mulch below maple? trees;
Spore print dark chocolate brown;
Cap of young shroom is round, darker brown and slightly sticky when rain-soaked;
Gills are fine, occasionally forked, with bits of white
filament attached to the stem from the margins of the cap;
Stem hollow and easily squashable;
No ring around the stem or base;
No staining when cut;
Small holes in cap where a slug (?) has eaten portions away.
My identification is not much more than a guess
as this is my first mushroom-identification attempt
