Observation 136431: Marasmius oreades (Bolton) Fr.

When: 2013-06-14

Collection location: Waterford, Connecticut, USA [Click for map]

Who: Sam.Schaperow (SamSchaperow)

No specimen available

Is my ID right? Stipes are tough. Taste & odor both particularly pleasant (esp. odor). Were growing near each other, however no ring was apparent (maybe as the mycelium ages a ring or semi-circle will start to become apparent?).

Yeah, I did think about the stipe color for a moment. Spore print? OK, I’ll go do that. TY.

This looks like an older specimen.

Gills and cap appear to be a bit blown out. Dark color on stipe is a bit perplexing. Spore print color may help here.

M. oreades does not always fruit in rings or arcs.
