found in the Ozark foothills of Butler County Missouri near mature white oak trees growing in two nearby clusters.
Last rainfall was exactly one week ago. It has been dry and hot this week.

Recognized by sight: It is the right shape and color, found in the correct habitat for A. velosa, but lacks the patches of white material on the cap.
