I found these boletes w/in inches of each other. Some I didn’t collect, being yellow and very soft (mature form of the parasite, if I remember correctly). As to the non-infected ones pictured, I did find a bit of evidence of a slight infection.

The white bolete is covered with Hypomyces chrysospermum, a second fungus.
