Yes quarter sized is typical I recall that we have noticed before the similarity of our two mushrooms. This one is common in one park under oak and a European beech.

less than 2 inch diameter. Looks like the same type that occurs in one corner of my property, possibly in association with some smallish oak trees in that spot. As far as I can tell, the type that I have observed never has a ring.
