Observation 137181: Lentinus sect. Velutini sensu Pegler

Specimen available

These were found in the same area as my
and growing in the same manner(buried wood).
These were a little fresher and while still covered with a lot of sand, the hairiness and purple-brown colors are more evident.
Caps up to 6.5 cm across.
Spore print was whitish to creamy.
Spores were ~ 7.0-8.8 X 4.0-4.7 microns, elongate and smooth.
Still don’t quite match any Lentinus species that I can find but at least a voucher is available.
