Notes: These little red blobs were growing along side the white Leucogloea compressa.

Recognized by sight: I’m pretty sure this is an Ascomycete, probably an Ascocoryne. Peniophora rufa is much more orange and grows almost exclusively on small diameter aspen twigs. Of course 20 seconds under the microscope would clear up any confusion
