Observation 137754: Hypomyces microspermus Rogerson & Samuels

When: 2013-06-26

Collection location: Larksville, Pennsylvania, USA [Click for map]

Who: Phil Yeager (gunchky)

No specimen available

Found near Virginia Pine with some hardwoods nearby. This has both the white and yellow asexual stages. I have it in my garage, but don’t think it will reach the sexual stage, because it is simply lying on paper without being rooted. help me out here. Any info as to how to “push” it to reach it’s next stage? Not a proffesional. Some of the photos show “tubes”, not gills which lead me to believe in my choice. Also some pics show a hollow interior suggestive of degradation internally.
