Observation 137765: Tylopilus peralbidus (Snell & Beardslee) Murrill

Notes: Growing in mixed woods in the Turkey Creek Unit.
Caps up to 5.7 cm across.
Cap and pores stained brownish when handled or bruised.
Taste sl. metallic.
Couldn’t get a significant spore print but they appeared to be relatively light colored.
Spores ~ 7.0-8.3 X 3.0-3.7 microns.
T. peralbidus seems to be at least “Promising” for this collection.
