No herbarium specimen

Notes: Brownish red convex cap, darker in center and lighter at margin, about 3" in diameter, viscid. Whitish, close gills. White solid stem. Both gills and stem are brittle. No bruising. Taste mild. No odor. Growing on ground under hemlock in mixed woods. Cap cuticle peels about halfway. Spore deposit pale brownish yellow.
