Recognized by sight: white with yellowish tinge at centre when old, crowded gills, distinct rhizoids at base.
Used references: V. Antonin & M.E. Noordeloos (2004): A monograph of the genera Hemimycena, Delicatula, Fayodia, Gamundia, Myxomphalina, Resinomycena, Rickenella and Xeromphalina in Europe.
Based on microscopic features: Spores 11×4.5; fusoid; awl-shaped abundant cheilocystidia (see photo); pleurocystidia absent.
Based on chemical features: Spores are inamyloid.
