No herbarium specimen

Notes: Salmon-pink colored spheres growing in moss on rotted woody substrate at base of dead hardwood (possibly beech as there are many beech in this area of the mixed woods). Spheres are 1/2 cm. in diameter, have a spongy feel and spikes/bumps on their surface.

shouldn’t feel spongy, they are tough as wood. If you see them again, squeeze them harder :-)
