A. flammea, deorsum attenuata, glabra, sanguineo-crocea, sursum dilatata, plumosa, lutea.

Pulcherrimus fungus, sed ut Isaria farinosa etc. et plurimae hujus, generis species forma mire varius, nunc simplex, nunc in ramos palmatim divisus, immo ramosissimus. Versus basin stipitiformem glabratam, vix 1/2 lin. crassam semper attenuatus est, et ramosus, rami semper deorsum attenuati, sursum vero dilitati, fibrosi et apice plumosi. Nascitus solitaria, ad altitudinem 1/2 — 1 Unc surgens. Color pulcherrimus, inferne croceo-sanguineus, superne flammeus; fungus vero exsiccatus contrahitur, rigescit, fusco-nigricat, ut aegre eundem credas. Sub microscopio facile secedunt flocci longissimi, tubulosi, septati, e quibus totum receptaculum contextum est, et adfusa aqua secedunt sporidia. Inter folia coacervata suffocatus magis byssaceus efflorescit, ad quen statum jam Junghunii icon accedit et fere pertinet Byssus rufipes Journ. Phys. Febr. 1922 t. 1 f. 5 Ad folia decidna faginea locis humidis nemorosis coacervatis, autumno minime rarus.
