Ridiculously beautiful lamallae, I would love to thrust my camera up them gills.

I finally read Bessette’s description and the lack of marginate lamellae in fresh material makes sense now. The gill edge and the gill face both begin dark. Then, when the mushroom dries, the gill face lightens dramatically while the edge remains dark.
