I think this might be the Southern Form of Boletus subglabripes which probably should be a distinct species.

Walter, did you by chance post a mixed collection? The boletes in the two pics look very different. The large one in the top photo has a subglabripes-type stipe, and the one below looks a bit like a bitter Tylopilis sp. It’s either that or I had one too many tonight. :)
