Observation 139093: Agaricus sect. Xanthodermati

When: 2013-07-08

Collection location: Yellowood State Forest, Indiana, USA [Click for map]

Who: Emma Harrower (eharrower)

No specimen available

Mixed hardwood forest. It caught my eye because it was swarming with little black flies, even though the partial veil had not broken yet. The smell is of sickly sweet rotting fish or meat. The yellow oxidation reaction in the stipe is interesting too. Gills have a pinkish tint.
