Did you check to see if it was hygroscopic at all? A few Geastrum are

Hi Christian,
I did not check to see if this mushroom was hygroscopic, but a different little Geastrum I found in similar habitat probably was. That other specimen was spread out when I found it in the rain, but the rays of the “star” folded back into a sphere when it dried out.
The fruit body in this observation was dry when we found it, and it went into the collection box dry. I should have an expert ID and an herbarium number for this one in a few days.
