I am not sure what was happening here. I doubt that it was flipped. Maybe a thin cuticle or maybe a fruiting body on top of it left an impression. Both ideas are very unlikely so I will leave it with I don’t know.

Pores on the upper surface?

I know this is an old observation. But are those pores on the upper surface of the larger specimen in the pictures? And if so, do you know if the mushroom was ever flipped upside down while it was growing?
