Observation 139943: Parasola Redhead, Vilgalys & Hopple
When: 2013-07-14
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Found growing in neighbors yard after rainfall. All alone in open area.
cap 25.4 mm. Translucent, pale-grey cap with a yellowish disc. No universal veil fragments on the cap. Deeply grooved from the margin nearly to the center.

Free, non-deliquescent gills.

Stem 76.2 mm in length. Hollow. pale orange, almost translucent

I am taking a reasonably educated guess toward Parasola lactea over Parasola plicatilis due to the lack of “inking”. Specimen dried to a crisp on porch rail in direct sunlight. No inky goo to be found.

you deleted this observation, everything except for a reference to it and the log which you can see by pressing “show log” at the bottom of the page will be deleted. I wouldn’t advise for or against it, someone else might be able to get a better name for it if you leave it. I was thinking Bolbitius is possible, maybe something like B. titubans given the colors, but its hard to identify mushrooms from the top only.

Color of the mature gills even? Doesn’t look like Parasola.

The lack of stem ring makes me doubt Leucocoprinus fragilissimus
