The packet is marked as mailed on 8 July.

So that will tell you (perhaps), which packet I have received.

Thanks again.

I totally get where sometimes you just can’t bear to dig up these beauties! ;)

Hope that you can run across more in the future. Very interesting amanita, and not one that resembles any known species that I can think of. In addition to that “whale shark” cap, the stipe appears to be flocculent as well as a bit yellow, with what appears to be red staining at the base.

Perhaps it’s something new in section validae?

I do not know

anymore.

You need to get 2 packages of 3 pieces each.
One package with one Amanita

Each Amanita is wrapped with klinex on which stands the name.
or if there is no name, then the number of OBS.

PS:Amanita frostiana, OBS (138881)

Amanita albocreata G.F. Atk. (137988)

Understandable.

That is a staggeringly beautiful specimen. The cap coloration reminds me of the whale shark. Did it have a ring on the stem? Was the volva sack-like or more like that in Amanita velatipes?

I did not
