Observation 140073: Scleroderma cepa group
When: 2013-07-15
No herbarium specimen

Notes: This collection was found under Lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta) in an ornamental sound-break. The specimen shown was so hard it almost kept me from breaking it apart. There is a tuft of rhizomorphs adherring to the base, but no other real pseudostipe.

Plate-like cracks in peridium.
Peridium 2-3mm thick, less at top of sporocarp, gleba dark purple and white.
