Observation 140111: Amanita jacksonii Pomerleau

No herbarium specimen

Notes: Friends of mine took the first photo, and explained where I could find the mushroom. It was a spot near the trailhead to the popular “falls trail” of Rickett’s Glen; lots of foot traffic. Mushroom was fairly well trampled by the time I found it. Second photo mine.

Material in sad shape. But I think what’s left of it will dehydrate.

Near a creek with hemlock.
