Observation 140448: Psathyrella candolleana (Fr.) Maire
When: 2013-07-20
No herbarium specimen

Notes: This mushroom looks embarassingly familiar, yet I can’t seem to find it in any of my field guides. The larger cap was about 4-5" wide. The gills start out white, but become brown as the cap expands. These two specimens were growing from beneath a firewood wood pile, which was on mulch. Both the cp and stem are extremely délicate and break easily.
