No herbarium specimen

Notes: cap is mustard yellow to primuline yellow in color; viscid when moist. Stipe is dry and light buff in color. It may have been somewhat viscid as evidenced by debris adhering to stipe. No pronounced odor.

Recognized by sight: found in mixed conifer forest under redwood. Looks somewhat like C. infractus.

when the cap is crushed there is a sweet odor of citronella but it is not a strong odor.
