Notes:
Mossy ground under balsam fir in mixed woods. Cap 52 mm., half dark brown (center), half pale (margin), pale orange brown patches, white flesh. Whitish gills. Whitish stem, 55 mm. × 5-8 mm. with ring. Cleft bulb, bruising brown. Odor of potatoes when cut. Heavy rains overnight which may have changed coloring.
