Notes: group on ground/moss; cap orange, 2-3 cm, small umbo in depressed center; gills cream, somewhat loose, adnate to subdecurrent, exuding latex; stipe similar orange/brown, 2 cm x 3-4 mm, smooth, flexible;
addl. info.
spore print creamy white.
latex white, not turning color or staining; taste mild, no distinctive odor; growing in moss among pines.

matches Lactarius splendens Hesler and Smith
