Observation 141780: Chalciporus piperatus (Bull.) Bataille

No herbarium specimen

Notes: On ground under balsam fir, birch and white cedar in mixed woods. There were 3 of these with caps up to 20 mm., red brown, dry. Pores yellow brown, angular, sunken at stem. Stem color of cap, 20 mm. × 3 mm. Flesh of cap and stem yellow, no bruising. Brown spore deposit. KOH on cap surface dark red.
