Notes: A large Russula, I believe, that forms a cap with brown tones on the edge of the cap, quickly turning white or splotchy white with tan streaks toward the center of the funnel-shaped cap; stipe is mostly white but has large obvious scurfy scales, no sign of latex, stalk chalk-like when broken.
